What is Rabies and Why is it Deadly?

Rabies is a viral disease transmitted through the bite or scratch of infected animals, especially dogs. Once symptoms appear, rabies is almost always fatal.

Every year, around 200-300 Filipinos die from rabies, making it one of the country’s most dangerous yet preventable diseases.

Symptoms include fever, headache, confusion, paralysis, fear of water, and eventually death
