1. Approved for all ages—infants to adults
2. Two administration routes:
- Intramuscular (IM): 0.5 mL per dose
- Intradermal (ID): 0.1 mL per site
3. Flexible dosing schedules:
- Pre‑exposure (e.g. travelers, veterinarians): 2–3 doses on days 0, 7, 21/28, boosters at 1 year and every 5 years
- Post‑exposure:
a. Unvaccinated: IM: days 0, 3, 7, 14, 28 (Essen regimen) or Zagreb schedule (2–1–1). ID options also available
b. Previously vaccinated: Two booster doses (day 0 and 3); no immunoglobulin needed unless immunocompromised.
